ABOUT ME
I graduated from Warsaw University - an MA programme in Polish-English-German translation and interpreting. During my studies I developed my skills in areas I specialize in, both during the courses (marketing, banking, law) and by working in respective trades (insurance, banking, finance). Additionally, I ensured a proper and up-to-date level of my English by spending a total of 6 months temping in various positions in Great Britain and almost 3 months working as a sales representative in the USA.
I graduated from my studies in 2008 but that did not put an end to my professional development and training. In June 2012 I completed a 3-month course in legal translations and in November 2012 I passed state exam organized by the Ministry of Justice; as a result, I am now entitled to interpret in Polish courts and provide certified translation of official documents.
I started gathering experience on the translation market in 2005. I spent a year working as an in-house translator, and currently I am a freelancer, carrying out written and oral assignments for a number of Polish ministries (through translation agencies) and representatives of the corporate sector (e.g. Orbis S.A., Symetria, Danone, Polish Railways).
I mainly specialize in:

INTERPRETING
SWORN TRANSLATION
I am currently working in the following language pairs:
- English -> Polish
- Polish -> English
- German -> Polish
- German -> English
The rates depend on the mode of translation (regular/express) and type of text (regular/highly specialist vocabulary), but to maintain clarity I always suggest settlement of the jobs based on a standard 1800 characters with spaces. Other forms are also acceptable on demand.
Other than translation, my services include:- proof-reading- verification of translation- cerification of translationI use CAT tools - currently Wordfast.
Interpreting can be carried out in consecutive or simultaneous mode. In the first one, interpreter waits untill the speaker has finished a chunk of their speech (3-4 sentences) and then translates. In the latter, trasnlation takes place - as the name implies - parallelly to the speech. Interpreting can be a significant supporting tool during conferences, trainings, negotiations or study visits.Additionally I can provide conference equipment, i.e. interpreting booths, sound system, etc. Alternatively - should there be no room or time for full conference equipment, I can also provide a tour guide system. Apart from typical conference surroundings it works really well in more "mobile" settings, eg. during study or control visits. During a trip to a production plant, for example, the group of translation recipients can scatter around the place instead of gathering around the interpreter, and the interpreter can focus on ascertaining proper quality of translation rather than struggling with the ambient noise.
Certified translation is required whenever documents prepared in a foreign language are presented before Polish public administration institutions and offices - for example a diploma, a contract or a purchase confirmation of any sorts.Similarly, Polish documents may need to be stamped by a sworn translator in order to ensure their full recognition abroad after they have been translated.Moreover, sworn interpretation may be necessary on a number of occasions in Poland. Whenever a foreigner is involved in legal or civil proceedings - be it before court on a trial, before a notary public while signing Articles of Association or at a General Register Office during a wedding ceremony - presence of a duly authorized sworn interpreter preconditions the validity of such actions.
